Shelter

When it suddenly rains in Amsterdam, people come to take shelter under our art market stalls and we are looking at a row of mute backs.

Deserted Factory

This looked like an old brick factory; probably deserted quite some time ago.

Bookstall

We were having a nice lunch in Rome (nothing beats the food in Italy) and we had a view of this bookstall and these two people having a heated conversation.

Below this ledge in the Tiber all kinds of plastic bottles were trapped by the streaming water.

Ashes

This could easily be mistaken for a barren part of the moon. Actually it is the remains of a fire made into an ash-landscape by the rain.

Laundry

People use these ships to live on and in, so nothing better than a fresh breeze to dry the laundry.

Porthole

I was invited in one of the old ships, that was lovingly being restored to its former beauty. This is a view through one of the portholes.

It was a nice crisp day when I was shooting at the harbour with excellent light.

Rain

An autumn Sunday in Amsterdam with no sunlight at all and some big downpours. This is a shot near the Art Market at the Spui: the reflection of a church on the Singel.

Rain III

It is not always possible to keep your feet dry when cycling through a puddle like this.

Rain IV

And this is a shot of one of the showers on the moment it was pouring down.
